Bankruptcy Filing Fees

Here in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area bankruptcy petitions are filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. As of May 2011, the filing fees are $299 for Chapter 7 and $274 for Chapter 13. The court does not accept personal checks from debtors, however a debtor that is not able to pay the full filing fee up front may be eligible to pay the fee in installments. These fees are assuming you file the petition correctly from the beginning and do not have to refile or reopen a case. Subsequent fees apply to reopen a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13.

You only want to file bankruptcy once. Go with an experienced law firm, such as the Fears | Nachawati law firm to handle your delicate bankruptcy needs.
