Does Being a Creditor in one Bankruptcy Keep me From Filing my Own?

With the bankruptcy filings of massive companies such as General Motors and ----, it is not uncommon for a small business person or even an every day consumer, to be a creditor in a bankruptcy filing. GM had over 2 million creditors alone.
Another individual or company's bankruptcy filing should have no impact on yours. In fact, it is not uncommon for a large-scale bankruptcy to become a causal link for several smaller filings. If you are considering bankruptcy because of missed payments from a party to a sepeate bankrupty filing, you do have a right to file bankruptcy.
