Most individuals are ineligible to file for anything other than a Chapter 7 liquidation or Chapter 13 repayment plan. However there is another Chapter available for individuals. Chapter 12 is available for farmers or others in the agricultural industry providing for an adjustment of debts. The other chapters that are available to businesses and not individuals are a Chapter 9 (for municipalities), Chapter 11, which is a repayment plan for businesses and Chapter 15 which is for international debtors.
