The trustee represents the interest of the bankruptcy estate. The trustee does not represent the interests of the creditors or the debtor. The United States Trustee has regional offices that appoint the official trustee for a particular bankruptcy case.
Once a debtor files for Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 everything belonging to the debtor becomes a part of the bankruptcy estate. This means all assets are under the legal authority of the trustee for the duration of the case. The trustee does not represent your interests, your counsel does. It is important that you have a thorough and competent advocate to represent you. The Fears | Nachawati Law Firm has the experience necessary to represent your interests.
