What to do when your Bankruptcy is Audited

Every year a very small number of bankruptcy debtors are audited randomly to authenticate their petition. During an audit, a company will go through your records and make sure that you have presented a clear and accurate picture of your financial situation to the court.
If you are flagged for audit you would typically be notified within 10 days of filing your petition. Once you have received the audit forms you will have three weeks to complete and return them to the auditing firm. The forms could be confusing for a layperson and an experienced attorney is extremely helpful in a situation such as this.
